Happy 2012 y’all! I’ve decided to take a highlight tour of 2011. I am not ready to assess the year, just to look back on the highlights. I do plan to assess our school year, as I am feeling need of some changes. But for now here is how it was:
JANUARY 2011
Happy New Year 2011!
It snowed down here early last January. We are not accustomed to snow, and therefore, have to put together an ensemble closely resembling winter-fishing wear so that we can get out and play.
We are oh so grateful that the cold doesn’t last but for a few days!
We celebrated Godzilla’s 12th birthday with the “Jaws Skateboard Cake.”
FEBRUARY 2011
Lots of celebration in February!
Xin Nian Kuai Le!
We welcomed in the Year of the Rabbit.
Our little Empresses!
Second, we celebrated Big Tuna’s 19th birthday with my amazing :) 16-layer, Fiery, Power Ranger Cake!
MARCH 2011
March was a little quieter; however, there was a birthday.
Happy Birthday Captain Daddy!
APRIL 2011
April 15th brought an end to Tax-Season!!!
And Easter-egg hunting!
MAY 2011
We journeyed to Washington D.C. on an extended “fieldtrip.”
Some of us enjoyed it more than others.
We said goodbye to our 16-year old dog, Coco.
JUNE 2011
June brought the end of our second year of homeschooling.
Big Tuna completed his first year in college.
Strawberry pickin’!
And a “Gotcha” Day celebration with The Princess.
JULY 2011
July was a very bittersweet month.
We began by enjoying the beach weather, and celebrating our “Gotcha” Day anniversary of The Queen.
The month turned to sadness as my sweet MIL, Marie, passed away.
She was greatly loved, and is terribly missed.
AUGUST 2011
Some “normalness” returned as we started off a new school year.
See how happy we are?
Very funny, Godzilla!
SEPTEMBER 2011
Celebrated The Queen’s 7th birthday with a Pony Party!
OCTOBER 2011
Captain Daddy and I celebrated 22 years of marriage;
Our fishing trip to Harkers Island;
And Trick-or-Treating with a Mermaid Princess, a Ladybug, and Godzilla as Big Tuna.
NOVEMBER 2011
The Princess lost her first tooth!
DECEMBER 2011
The month began as we celebrated The Princess’ 6th birthday…
with pierced ears,
and a Diva Party!
Still enjoying beach weather…
and Christmas.
We are looking forward to the New Year, and thanking God for all of the blessings He has bestowed on us this past year.
